Your Yes At the Office Matters + Trip Updates

Someone told me a few months back...

"Everyone's yes is just as significant. Whether God is asking you to say yes to working your 9-5, or yes to going overseas, they are all just as valuable and important to God. The important part is you saying YES."

And for those of you following along on this journey, you know my trip to North Africa is coming next month. So the fact that those words were spoken over me months before I even knew I'd be going overseas? God was already planting seeds for a yes I hadn't said yet. How good is He!!

But big yeses don't make you immune to hard mornings. Shocking, I know. Today, I woke up feeling unsettled. One of those mornings where a dream tries to drag you through memories of the past like a highlight reel of everything you'd rather forget. Cool, cool, cool. Great way to start a morning. ◡̈

But my roommate had shared something with me the night before. She said she'd been trying to look at herself in the mirror every morning and say out loud: "I am dead to sin. And alive in Christ." And then name whatever it is.

And this morning was the perfect opportunity for that! So I said,

"I am dead to anxiety and ALIVE in Christ."

"I am dead to fear and ALIVE in Christ."

I had to command my flesh to come under the blood of Jesus. My spirit and my soul know I'm free, but my body sometimes forgets it isn't a slave to the world anymore. Can anyone else relate to that?

This exercise changed the entire trajectory of my day.

Right before my lunch hour, I heard the Lord say He wanted to move through me to shift the culture at work.

My mind immediately went to what I needed to do. What bold move I needed to make or what I needed to do for the Lord. And then He tenderly corrected me.

"No, Daughter. I just want you to go eat lunch in the breakroom with Me."

Oh.

Okay. That was simpler than I thought. And honestly, a little humbling. He just wanted me to show up for lunch. LOL

So I went. And waiting there was one of my dearest coworkers; someone I don't get to see often because we work on opposite sides of the building. We started catching each other up, talking about our weeks, what we were working on... and then the Holy Spirit just fell on us, bringing wisdom and revelation.

We started talking about how the Lord had intricately woven us into this season, for such a time as this. And that led us to Esther.

A girl born an orphan, carrying a royal identity she didn't fully understand yet, whose simple obedience shifted the trajectory of God's people. She had no clue how far her yes would reach. Mordecai reminded her that whether she stepped into it or not, God's will would prevail. But God had invited her into the story.

Now that got me. What part am I playing in redemption that I'm lacking the faith to see?

I had just finished our organization's very first Annual Impact Report, something that had never been done before. It took two months of trailblazing. And the day it was sent out, our Founder and former CEO had replied to the email: "Incredible work to everyone involved!!!" My coworker looked at me and said that it was no accident. God had gone before me, placed me here, and was weaving my obedience into something bigger than I could see. Just like Esther.

Saying yes to God can look like designing a report or just going about your day and asking where the Lord is, and asking Him to speak into it.

We talked for over 30 minutes just marveling at what God was revealing and the joy of the Lord bubbled out of us.

And then, less than an hour later, He did it again.

A coworker stopped by my office and shared some heavy things going on in their life. I felt the Holy Spirit's compassion for them and my heart ached. After they had shared, I knew the Lord was inviting me to pray. So we did! Right there in my office. And He showed UP!

Won't the Lord do it?!

Friends, your yes matters to the Lord!

God isn't just moving in churches and on mission fields!! God is eager to move in the breakrooms and the offices and the Thursday afternoons.

Say yes and show up. Watch what He does with it! Update on my trip:

Thank you all for your concerns and questions about my upcoming travels to the 10/40 window. My team will be traveling to North Africa, in a different region than where the US has issued departure advisories. Our team is staying closely updated, communicating constantly with our ministry leadership, and being very intentional and wise. We take this seriously! For more information on the response about the wars from the ministry I will be going with, here's a video from the CEO/Pastor of MAPS Global addressing the current situation. And please, keep partnering with me in prayer for the nations! We get to pray, preach, and sing until every nation sees and every nation sings of the worth of Jesus Christ and the task of the Great Commission is fulfilled in our generation!! I am so grateful the Lord is ABOVE every situation and has a prophetic and redemptive plan. I'll be posting prayer points in my next post! If you'd like to give to my trip you can give here: https://ppay.co/3DizgQbmFAw
